Moving house? - Move Your Electricity & Gas with Contact Energy

Take Contact with you when you move to your new house and that’ll be one less thing for you to worry about. You can arrange for us to supply energy to your new property online or by phone - whichever way works best for you. And you can be sure we’ll do whatever we can to make the process as easy as possible.

Move online

You can arrange to connect at your new property online right here, right now. You can also arrange for a final reading at your current Contact address.

It will help if you know:

  • your account number (you’ll find this at the top right-hand corner of your Contact bill)
  • the location of your electricity and gas meter for the property you would like us to supply
  • your Fly Buys number if you have one
  • your landlord's name, address and phone number if you're renting

Moving your business?

Simply call us before your moving day and we'll arrange everything. You can call our Customer Service Team on 0800 20 9000 any time between 7am and 9pm Monday to Friday and between 8am and 5pm on Saturdays.

Are we in your area?

Contact supplies electricity to most of the country and gas to large areas of the North Island. If you are moving to a new area, check to see if we can supply electricity and/or gas to your new home.
