Protecting your credit card information

Rest assured if you choose to pay by credit card we take all the precautions we can to ensure that your credit card information is kept safe.

Here are some other handy hints on how you can keep your credit card protected:

  • Never give out your credit card details over the phone unless you are absolutely sure that it is safe to do so. If you are asked for your credit card information by Contact over the phone, make sure that the person asking for your details is genuine. If you're concerned they're not, hang up and call us back with your account number on 0800 80 9000 and we will be able to confirm if we we're talking to you previously.
  • Never give out your PIN number to anyone and avoid writing it down.
  • Call your bank immediately if your credit card is lost, stolen or if your PIN is disclosed.
  • Only use secure Internet sites when purchasing online. Look for a web address that begins with https:// - the 's' indicates that it's a secure connection.
  • Avoid making credit card transactions on open public networks such as an Internet Cafe or a friend's Internet connection.
  • Never let your credit card out of your sight when you make a purchase.
  • Shred any credit card statements you don't need.
  • Sign new cards as soon as you receive them. Also destroy any old cards you have replaced.
  • Look out for any suspicious devices on ATMs.
