Contact and other gas industry participants pay levies and fees to fund the operations of the Gas Industry Company - an industry body set up to meet the industry's obligations under the Gas Act. This cost is passed on to residential customers as a fixed daily charge, and business customers as a variable charge, and is shown on your bill as a separate line item called ‘Gas Industry Company Fees’.
