Online Services – residential

As a Contact customer you are able to access your account online, free and securely, at any time of the day or night.

Register

Registering is easy and can be done in less than five minutes - just have your account and ICP numbers ready. You'll find both these numbers printed in the top right hand corner on the reverse side of your energy bill.

Here's what you can see and do online

  • Get an up-to-date summary of your accounts.
  • Review your transaction history for the last 12 months.
  • View a graph of your energy usage so you can compare month-on-month for the previous two years.
  • Link your Fly Buys number to your Contact Energy residential accounts.
  • Check when your next meter reading is scheduled.
  • Register for Online Billing.  
  • Set up direct debits or SmoothPay direct debits online.
  • Give your home the Online Home Check-up – the online tool that gives you personalised advice on ways to save money around your home and reduce your energy bill.

Online Billing

Say goodbye to paper bills with Online Billing. Activate Online Billing for your accounts when you join Online Services and we'll email you each month when your bill is ready to view. You'll be able to see your last 24 bills, in PDF format, stored in one place, accessible anytime, so you can keep tabs on your energy use online.

Did you know?

Once you’re set up with Online Billing you’re half way to receiving our Online OnTime 12% prompt payment discount! All you need to do is pay by direct debit or internet banking on time (excluding credit cards).  Find out more >
