Online Billing

Say goodbye to paper bills by registering for Online Billing. You'll find Online Billing to be simple, secure and convenient as you can view your bill online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's perfect if you prefer to do things online.

How it works

  • We’ll email a PDF bill to you each month.
  • You’ll be able to view and print your current and past bills from within online services.
  • You can pay your bill by direct debit, SmoothPay, telephone or internet banking.

Getting set up

First you'll need to register for online services before you can get your bills online. You'll need to provide us with an email address before you can register. If you didn’t give this to us when you signed up, you can send it along with your account number to help@contactenergy.co.nz.

If you've already registered for online services, simply log in and change your payment method under My Details > Billing > Payment Method.

 

Questions about Online Billing

What type of device do I need to get Online Billing?

Online Billing works best with a modern browser such as Chrome 10, Safari 5, Firefox 3.6, IE8 or greater. You should still be able to access Online Billing with browser versions older than these, but you may experience problems. If this is the case, you might want to update your browser. Contact your Internet Service Provider for assistance.

What if I pay manually and forget to look at my bill online?

We will send you a reminder in the post if you don't pay your online bill by the due date. However this will mean you will miss out on your prompt payment discount. Email or call us if you can't view your bill for any reason.

What do I need to do if my email address changes?

Go to the 'My details' section in your Online Services account, then select 'Update my details' and enter your new email address. It's important to do this, so your online bill email reminders go to the correct address.

Can I look at all my Contact electricity and gas accounts online?

You can access online services for all your electricity and natural gas accounts, but you won't be able to see your Contact Rockgas LPG account.

I'd like to receive paper bills again - how do I do this?

Visit the 'Billing' section in your Online Services account, then select 'Manage Online Billing' – it's under the section 'Accounts already signed up to Online Billing'. Then select and tick the box of the account you are removing from Online Billing. This will mean you will miss out on your Online OnTime prompt payment discount.
