New sites and new gas connections

We can help you if you’re building new premises and you, your builder or electrician needs to arrange for an electricity supply either, temporary or permanent. You might also want to have natural gas connected to a new or existing site. We can help you there too.

Connect to electricity

Get your builder or electrician to contact our New Connections Team (phone 0800 86 26 66) if you’re building new premises and connecting to electricity for the first time.

Connect to gas

Natural gas is available to many businesses throughout the North Island. Call us and we’ll put you in touch with a Contact Energy gas agent who can organise for gas to be connected at your premises.

Connect to LPG

Call us to discuss LPG connections on 0800 762 542. Piped LPG is available in selected areas in the South Island. Alternatively if you are enquiring about bottled LPG, we'll need a few details from you including where you'd like to site your cylinders. We may also need to visit to make sure your property is suitable. We can usually arrange cylinder delivery within two working days. Your gasfitter will let us know when to deliver the cylinders and install them.
